Our days are so full of screens and notifications that silence has become rare. Giving yourself thirty deliberate minutes with no technology, just the sounds of the world around you, is a small but genuine reset. Birdsong, wind in the leaves, water moving somewhere nearby: these were always there, you just stopped hearing them.

Find a serene spot, a park, your garden, a forest trail, and turn everything off. Leave the phone behind if you can resist it otherwise. Settle in, take a couple of grounding breaths, close your eyes, and let each sound wash over you without judgement. When a thought pulls you away, gently return to the soundscape. Afterward, notice how you feel and whether this is something worth doing more often.

by PlayTryBe team

Choose a serene spot where you can hear natural sounds: a local park, your backyard, or a quiet forest trail.

Suggestion: In a city, find a green space that softens the traffic noise.

Turn off your phone, computer, and every device. Leave the phone in another room or your car if the temptation is strong.

pause

Settle into a comfortable position, take a few deep breaths, close your eyes, and focus on the sounds around you.

Simply be. Let the birds, wind, and water wash over you. When thoughts intrude, gently bring your attention back to the sounds.

When the thirty minutes are up, reflect on how you feel and whether making this a regular practice would do you good.
